RVs & Campsites
Raccoon Mountain has full-service RV sites that have water, sewer, digital cable, and 20/30/50 amp electric service. The pull-through full hook up sites are designed to easily accommodate the largest RV’s with multiple slides. There are even separate water & electric sites available for larger needs. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring.
In addition to full-service RV sites, there are also nine cabins available for rent year-round. You must be 21+ to reserve and check in.
The campground also offers primitive tent sites designed to appeal to those tent campers who want to “rough it” but who still appreciate access to all campground amenities. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table and is designed 10’ x 10’ tent pad. Charges may apply for additional campers. The bathhouse and city water faucets are within easy walking distance.
When it comes to assessing the ideal Chattanooga RV park, look no further than Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground.
Caverns & Tours
The cave features over 5.5 miles of underground passageways, as well as a variety of natural formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstones. There are also guided tours available, as well as a gemstone panning area.
Specifically, the Wild Cave Expeditions famous “get muddy” tours visit the deeper, undeveloped sections of the cave. These tours require participants to wear gloves, pads, lights, and helmets — all of which are provided for your use.
Wild Cave tours require physical exertion including crawling, climbing, sliding, and squeezing.
Please read through the Wild Cave Checklist to ensure you are aware of the requirements of the tour. Restrictions on height, age, and size apply to all tours.
Want to take it a little more easy? Don’t worry! The Crystal Palace Tour is a 45-55 minute walking tour through just the first 1/4 mile of the cave.
